The idea of building a custom home can seem overwhelming. However, at EK homes we believe that the custom home building process is a magical experience that allows for your dreams to become reality. Here is how we can simplify the process and help you build your custom home today!
Budget
Determining your design budget is a critical first step in the custom home building process. This will allow a professional to help you best achieve the design you have envisioned while maintaining a comfortable price point. There is nothing more disappointing than designing a home you cannot afford. Discussing numbers early on will allow for your budget to be prioritized and the EK home design team to help you determine what stylistic elements to keep or cut in order to maintain your inspiration and hit the target budget.
Design
Part of the design is the planning that must be considered ahead of time. You will need to determine and disclose deadline information. Are you needing your EK custom home to be complete before your lease runs out or before you transfer jobs? This information can help your design team decide what is achievable in the timeframe that you have in mind. Please note the a custom home can take anywhere from 3-12 months to be completed based on the complexity of the design and build itself. A construction schedule will be provided after the design has been determined. Due to high volume and demand as well as the impact of Covid-19, delays may occur to the construction schedule.
Design Selections:
Designing a home that is unique to you can begin with a consultation to discuss designs curated by the EK home design team. It may look deeper into floor plans, specialty finishes, and personal design choice as well.
An EK homes team member will be able to guide you in your design selection process as well as provide you with alternative design elements in order to maintain within your predetermined style and budget.
You will be provided a deadline for when your design selections will be due. Please note that variations in design elements may result in a different deadlines. Changes in design elements may also impact the anticipated completion date.
Build
The building process is where all of the magic happens. This is where your dreams become reality! When you build a custom home with EK homes, you can expect to have live updates on the status of your home using visual technology. You can also plan visits to see your new home as it comes together. This allows for changes to be made along the way to ensure that your new custom house feels like a home. We love to keep an open communication line with all of our clients so you feel as involved and in control of your build as you would like. Meetings to discuss progress and expectations are also encouraged.
